Hey there radio lovers! 😎 After a few weeks of silence we are finally here with a huge update for the Pro Radio WordPress Theme! This new version includes tons of brand new features that were requestes by dozens of customers for a long time!

The main updates are:

1. Sidekick: a new plugin to display song history and manage songs and voting

2. Automatic Chart generator

3. Charts auto-compile with iTunes integration and local database

4. New customizer options to change charts and podcasts appearance

5. New Elementor options for post grid, shows carousel, show on air

6. Compatibility with PHP 8.2

Meet Pro Radio SideKick!

With Pro Radio SideKick you can store played tracks, add them manually, and create charts on autopilot. Below a quick example:

Users can listen and vote single tracks. SideKick will create a unified ranking of songs by votes and by Play time.

Elementor widgets updates

Yes, we finally added some design options who tons of you have been asking for:

• Radio shows card proportions in the shows schedule can now be customized, and is responsive
• In Post Grid, you can now set a different image size from the Elementor widget, so if you want a larger event or show card, wioth better quality image, it’s possible
• The “on air show” can now customize the font size for all of the texts, allowing to make it super tiny or even big
• Also the upcoming radio shows carousel has new features, to customize card size and image size

And, of course, there is a brand new SideKick Songs Widget (visible here) which allows to display songs as a list or a grid, allows to vote, listen or buy a song, can be customized in contents, size and design, and, in the premium version, also allows advanced customizations for colors and layout.

Customizer new features

In the WordPress customizer you’ll now find a few more options:

• In Special Contents > Podcasts, you can now change site-wide the Podcast cards proportion to make them squared,taller or smaller
• In Special Contents > Schedule, there are similar controls to modify the basic aspect of the show cards

Pro Radio Dedications update

The Dedications plugin has been udpated to introduce compatibility with the new SideKick plugin. In SideKick Premium you can now enable a ninja feature to automatically store a dedications song in the global songs archive: SideKick will not only insert the song in the database, making it available for future charts and dedications, but also autocomplete the song details by finding the album, artwork, mp3 sample and purchase link. One click – done!

On top of this, the new Dedications plugin can fetch songs from the Songs archive. This means you  can manually insert underground, white label or vintage songs in your archive to make them appear in the auto-suggestion of the dedications form, or it can automatically display tracks that have been taken from the radio history archive.

Pro Radio Core update

The new Core plugin features PHP 8.2 compatibility and introduces new field features to support Sidekick functionalities. However, this is essentially “under the hood” stuff, so I won’t delve further into it.😜

Pro Radio Chart Vote and Auto Chart Generator

Perhaps one of the most interesting implementation with the charts is SideKick: if enabled in SideKick Premium, the interactions with the chart songs can affect the global song ranking.

So when a user likes or dislikes a song, disregardin from the specific chart where the song appears, and the specific score of the song in that chart, the global song score will be affected by the interaction, allowing the radio station manager to extract in real time the songs by “rank” (likes) and this score is automatically updated from the global songs interactivity. Another ninja feature is the automatic chart generation: you can create a chart in 1 single click, using the data from your database.

Forget manually compiling hundreds of fields! Get songs from your radio history or iTunes, and the chart is done!

PHP 8.2 compatibility

Version 6.0 of Pro Radio and its associated plugins have undergone rigorous testing with PHP 8.2, ensuring optimal compatibility. If you encountered deprecation notices or errors and reverted to PHP 8.1, rest assured, transitioning to 8.2 is now seamless. Our commitment to staying future-proof, up-to-date, and enhancing speed and security remains unwavering. Pro Radio continues to embrace new technologies and standards, ensuring readiness for whatever lies ahead!

We’re now including a brand new Pop Music demo, visible at this link and included with Pro Radio WordPress Theme. It includes several SideKick widgets, the new parallax and Particles animations, and a brand new Mega Header with interactive widgets.

How to update your radio WordPress website

1. Backup your site
2. Click Pro Radio Admin
3. Update the theme
4. Click “Install and Update plugins” and udpate any plugin in the list
5. That’s all! Check your site and enjoy the new features!
