Pro Radio Update 5.0! From good to unbelievable: raising the bar for radio websites

It was not long ago when we released the blasting 4.6 Pro Radio update which introduced Autoplay, Mega Headers, new demos and design options. But our creativity never stops, just like your passion for radio broadcasting! This is the list of new features and improvements for your radio station website.

Added compatibility for server caching  and schedule features

Pro Radio can display the current and upcoming radio shows, but this feature relies on server function, causing conflicts with servers which are using long TTL for the cache, and systems as NgiNx, Litespeed, W3Total Cache, Wp Fastest Cache and similar.

If your server uses caching and you experienced issus such as incorrect current radio show, incorect day of the week displayed in the schedule, or similar schedule-related issue, you’ll be happy to know that now it can be fixed in a click.

Finally we were able to integrate a system for our schedule which can bypass caching for the specific contents related to the shows schedule, such as

• Weekly schedule
• Current radio show on air
• Shows slider
• Shows carousel

The new system acts entirely “under the hood”, and you don’t need to disable or change your caching parameters anymore. It has been tested with NgiNx, Litespeed, W3 Total Cache, WP Fastest Cache and other popuar plugins.

To enable this feature check the Advanced section of the customizer and enable “Server Cache Fix for Schedule”

Added particles background animations

We added a stunning effect for your website, it can be used both for single page headers and for any section created with Elementor. This effect is an animated particles animation. It comes with 7 presets (polygons, snow, stars).

Added parallax scroll to background pictures in Elementor

Section backgrounds can be set as parallax with custom speed (only simple background! not video and slideshows).

Added page template options to radio shows, radio channels, team members and more

Do you want to design your radio shows or radio channels entirely with Elementor, without the prebuilt page structure? Now it’s easy! You can switch the Page Template for every custom post type. We added:

• Page Visual Composer: perfect to have a blank page to create anything with Elementor
• Page sidebar: do you like a classic style? This is for you!
• Page Full Width: a classic page with header and boxed design

Page header: added new options and effects

In Page Header you can now set the following options:

• Frame border radius and backgorund
• Background image position (top, center or bottom) so you can better craft your headers to match with different photo contents
• Particles background (apply to all headers)

Default font size options

In the Typography section it’s not available a control to change the default font size for Desktop and Mobile.

Activation function update

The license activation now accepts a license key disregarding the status of the “Updates and Support” service. Since the license is lifetime, while the service is yearly, we thought it was correct to allow adding the license key independently from the status of the license. At the same time, a license is now required for certain backend functionalities, so even if your Support & Updates service is suspended, you need to add the license to use certain backend functionalities. A license can only be active on the linked domain. If you move the website from staging to production, make sure to update the licensed domain to prevent service disruptions.

How to update your radio WordPress website

1. Backup your site
2. Click Pro Radio Admin
3. Update the theme
4. Click “Install and Update plugins” and udpate any plugin in the list
5. That’s all! Check your site and enjoy the new features!
